I was recently talking to a friend who works for Apple. We were singing the praises of the company. At one point in the conversation, here’s what she said to me (she was describing to me what she did at Apple):
—
I save people from the blue screen of death. I stop road rage. Perhaps someone won’t fly off the handle at their spouse or child tonight, because I sold them a superior computer that won’t crash on them every 10 minutes and is easy to use.
—
Beautiful!
My friend just noble-ized her job. She turned her routine into something noble that serves humanity. She doesn’t just sell Apple product, she reduces anger and stress in the world by offering people world class computer products.
Perfect!
So, what do you do?
I make people life easier at work, I fix problems, and I clean the mess and once I do that I go to a different department or position to get a new problem, so people can do their job easier and faster.
So I can say that I make life easier at work.
