As we consider MLK’s life this weekend, I was struck by this quote:

A genuine leader is not a searcher for consensus but a molder of consensus.

There’s a lot to this quote. A "molder of consensus"  can easily become a manipulator of consensus if he or she is not thoughtful and collaborative during the process of dialogue and discovery.

A molder of consensus requires great wisdom, humility and discernment–qualities we all need in the leadership moments we find ourselves in.
